I doubt it in this case as this abend is often reported as happening
only after other software boots. Also the abend is a very old one in
Money. A workaround is start Money with other startup stuff and it
will work in some reported here cases.

One likely problem if you are running Win 98 ( and not Win98SE or
Win98ME) is that your computer does not meet the requirements for
Money 2006:
http://www.microsoft.com/money/Syste...s.aspx?pid=003

If that is actually the case, then that is not going to work. :-(

I moved to M06 from M03 running W98SE. I then bought 2 new white box
machines and installed W2K. I never had problems like this report.
Looking at old m.p.m posts I see this abend mentioned going all the
way back to 2003. Try searching this group from google for the abend.

I do not run any AV or firewall. I am dialup so not really much of a
TCP/IP target. You should certainly be able to start sample.mny
without problems assuming it is the unmodified file.

Did you compare Bookkeeper with Acemoney?

right away...that is too much work...I am still within the 30 day money back
gaurantee so I am just going to return it....Due to this and other issues I
am now officially boycotting all MS product...this is probably just another
way of MS trying to get people to upgrade from 98.....I am going to use a

I have found if I start it up first thing after booting the machine it comes
up without a problem. It's only if I wait until after the items in the
"protection" suite that my new ISP sent that's doing it, but even with all
those programs turned off (and my cable modem off) I still can't get in.
They got to be running a services that's causing the problem, I just can't
find it.

Oh well, this solution is working for me, (frustrating, but working) and
we're probably getting a new machine this summer anyway, and I can only hope
the OS upgrade with help solve this.

Well I get the same message.....I tried install the new MDAC 2.8, MSXML 4.0
SP2, and registering the msxml4.dll nothing has worked and Microsoft in its
infinite wisdom won't let me chat or email support without my product number
which I of course can't get to without the product actually loading......

I think I will return this and get quicken or something similar.......even
if I get it working they will probalby tell me it is not a Genuine Copy of
Money 2006 some time in the near future as that is their new THING.....

If you find a solution, let me know......

I'm still running Win 98, so no.

I tried starting to uninstall the window updates last night and was able to
get in temporarily after uninstalling one of them (right now I'm at work, so
I don't have to patch number). But when I restarted the computer this
morning and tried to get in, I couldn't again.

Really very frustrating, but at least I got my banking in last night LOL,
which I haven't been able to record in a week!

Do you have a recent XP restore point that pre-dates the problems?

Default MSMONEY caused an exception c0000409H in module MNYOB99.DLL at 016

My Money 2006 was running just fine until a week or so ago. Now I'm getting
the following error message whenever I try to start it:

MSMONEY caused an exception c0000409H in module MNYOB99.DLL at 0167:24183735.
Registers:

I've have update my MSXML and MDAC application to be the last versions from
the Microsoft download sites. I've applied uninstalled and reinstalled
Money. I've basically tried anything I could find on the web to fix this on
my own and I'm having no luck starting it. I'd contact support directly, but
I cannot get the app to open to get the information they need to validate I'm
legit.

I'm guessing there was a windows update that is causing the problem or else
the software from our new ISP (Road Runner) that I installed about the same
time this broke that's the culprit, but ....

Anyone have any bright ideas? I'll try anything just about now.

Thanks,
Patti
