Don't overwrite your recent backup files. Make an extra copy onto
different media.

You could try putting a password on a test file to see if the
problem follows the passwording, or if it is the file. If the
problem is not just with that one file, I would consider
reinstalling Money.

Things to consider will be to use salv.exe to see if it can fix your
*.mny if that is the problem, and to restore you recent backup. To
do that, open Money by double-clicking that recent *.mbf file.

Default Not able to open password protected money files.

When I tried to open my money file which is password protected, I get the
application crash all the time.
" AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.919 ModName: msofd.dll
ModVer: 10.0.0.919 Offset: 0004cf47

Microsoft Money has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The only difference I can think of is the installation of Security Update
for Windows XP (KB901190)

I don't have any issue in opening another money file without any password.

any help in resolving this issue will be appreciated.

thanks,
Johnson
