| I modified my opening balance to adjust it. Thanks! You're probably right about a doubled up entry. I've only been working with MS Money 2006 for about a week. I'm tempted to start over. I've used MS 98 for years though. Thanks for all your help! "Dick Watson" wrote: - quote - > I don't know why switching from Essential to Advanced would have changed > your balance. | I don't know why switching from Essential to Advanced would have changed your balance. Working with Advanced is only different in that you have more control--which you needn't exercise--over things like categorization and Transfers of money. It lets other things in Money, "Advanced" things that were all any of us ever used or needed until M05 came out, work. So, why would your balance be way off? One thing I'd check is that Advanced Register accounts have an Opening Balance in Account Settings. I'm not sure why an Essential Account would even need one since all they do is parrot what the bank downloads. This could be missing. Beyond that, the ending balance is just the sum of account opening balance and all transactions. Changing shouldn't have eliminated transactions, but it might have doubled some up with another download from the bank. | So I just switched my checking to advanced and was able to get my spending catagories looking great. However, now my checking account balance is way off. Maybe my question is what's all involved in working with an advanced register? Thanks for your help! "Dick Watson" wrote: - quote - > No. Seems like logging into a bank website to me. | No. Seems like logging into a bank website to me. What's the point? | That depend entirely on how you pay your credit card. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=53. If you are using Essential *, turn them off. | Nevermind. I was wrong about this one. Follow up question though, if I spend $50 on shoes with my credit card and then pay my credit card bill that same month, both seem to show up in my spending. Isn't that counting $50 twice? Thanks. "Bill" wrote: - quote - > Anyone know how to have items entered in checking account adjustments be > included on the "forecast your cash flow" page. | Anyone know how to have items entered in checking account adjustments be included on the "forecast your cash flow" page. Without them included my forecasted cash flow for my checking account is not accurate. Thanks! |
