To create a new file without Passport, select Decline.> use Passport. It just says "Do you already have a Passport" or "Would you > like to sign up for a Passport account". If you want to remove the Passport from a file you may have to turn off background banking at Tools-> Settings-> AccessYourMoneyDataOnTheWeb and then File-> PasswordManager you can choose to remove your Passport. To remove a conventional password, see File-> PasswordManager. |

| Also, I tried creating a new file and it looks like there is no option NOT to use Passport. It just says "Do you already have a Passport" or "Would you like to sign up for a Passport account". Incidentally, I've upgraded from Money 2004 and I don't think I had the earlier version hooked up to Passport. At least I never had to sign in. Kind of a pain that I have to now so I'm hoping to find a way around it. |

| I must have set it up with Passport, too without stopping to read the instructions ![]() Now I can't find a way to detach it from Passport. I've looked through the Tools | Settings options but can't find it anywhere. Has anyone managed to do this? |

| Try to load the program again and DO NOT SIGN IN. Look for something that lets you into the program without signing in. Try to use the sample file. It is a great program if you are willing to use your head. Good luck. Steve |

| So, you set it up with a Passport on your file? Did you really need to (needed to for downloads, etc) or did you just think Money wanted you to? When you say "When I went to use it I of course had to sign in", you assert something that isn't necessarily true. I've NEVER signed into Money except when playing around with features that require it. I've never done that with my main data file.
