I know this doesn't help your problem but I use Money 2006 and don't
have any performance complaints. Every Action I take that I can think
of takes < 1 second other than report generation or updating info from
my banks. Just saying it is something with how your system is set up.

Maybe check if it is timing out on some primary method of network
access and then deciding to use a backup... Hard to say. If you have
Windows firewall or something else running try getting behind a
hardware firewall or corporate and turning off your local to see if
that does anything.

Good Luck

Re. performance, I feel your pain. Money is the poorest performing
application I use, at home or at work. Has been since '01. They say they
care. The results of their caring continue to show......

Re. online transfers via Money, I feel for you but can't quite reach you. I
don't involve Money in my online banking activities. I'm convinced I save
lots of problems that way.

Default Money 2006 slow, and transfer bug

I have a new 3.5G Intel system with XP Pro, 2G of ram, fast SATA drives, a
symetrical 1Mbps DSL link at the house, and still... Microsoft Money 2006
takes about 8 seconds to respond to the "Approve" button. When I say "Work
Offline", then its faster, but still unacceptably slow.

Also, with the latest 2 versions, it can no longer do a bank transfer
between checking and business in less than 4 days. With previous versions,
and with Quickbooks, it was near instant. Nobody at the bank or at
Microsoft Money can fix it. The best they can come up with is "Your
computer clock must be wrong."
