I don't know the cause of the initial message, but deleting a transaction
from the bill summary without adding a stop date leaves a ghost in the
budget. That's a bug. Workaround is here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823215/en-us.

That may also help with the inappropriate 'out of budget' message.
Basically, you're starting over with a new category.

Default problem with budget categories

Some time ago I set up a budget and it is tracking all of my spending
categories. Today, I tried to set up bill and deposits. I don't pay bills
through money, but I wanted to be able to see upcoming bill without loggin
on to my bank website. When setting up my first bill and entering the
spending the category, money gave this message.

"The category you have selected for this bill is not currently part of your
budget. Do you want money to add the category so that your budget will
include this bill?"

I knew this subcategory is included in my budget, for I see it each time I
view the budget, but I thought no harm in letting the program add it. Well,
as soon as I did, that subcategory fell out of my budget. The transaction is
still listed in the register, under the correct subcategory, but for some
reason, that particularl transaction has been flagged to no be included in
the budget. I have deleted that entry in the Bill Summary and I have changed
the subcategory of the transaction to no avail. It seems that transaction
has been blocked from my budget. Any suggestion?
