Default Re: Incorrect Cost Basis

No need to reply, after doing a more thorough search for cost basis, I
found that the investment details were set to Average Cost Basis, not
Actual Cost Basis. I changed this and everything works fine now.
Sheesh, wish I would have found this forum awhile ago!

Default Incorrect Cost Basis

I am currently trying the Trial version of Money 2006 and am having
difficulty with the cost basis in an annuity I am setting up. For
example, I have four purchases within an investment: 9/14/05 for 31.69,
10/2/2005 for 41.21, 11/2/05 for 41.21, and 12/1/2005 for 41.21. Then,
to pay for the premium for the life insurance, each of the last three
purchases also have a removal of shares: removal of .096 shares from
the 10/2/05 and 11/2/05 lots and a removal of .093 from the 12/1/05
lot.

Upon setting up the removal of shares, I correctly selected the lots.
However, in going to the Account Summary, it shows a cost basis of
116.36 instead of 116.08. Everything else is correct, prices paid for
all purchases, last price, etc.

I have also tried to sell the shares instead of having them removed,
hoping that by verifying the final selling amount as well as selecting
the correct lot, it would help, but no such luck.

As a side note, I currently have Quicken 2006 (I like the reporting in
Money better, so I am thinking of switching) and when I enter these
transactions into it, it comes out perfect. Interestingly, when I
compare the two side-by-side, all of the information looks identical
except for the final cost basis! Also, when I check the each removal of
shares, it really seems to be the last removal that is really throwing
off the total cost basis.

Any thoughts on what is causing my difficulties? I have tried to delete
everything and reenter several times, but I always end up with 116.36.

Thanks in advance for any help!

M
