Yes, assuming you have a US file. There is a downloadable trial you> disc. If I buy a 2006 Money will it open the file without a pasword? could run to make sure. However assuming you then buy Money 2006, it is best to have the disk for easier reinstall. Money Deluxe with a disk is available without a rebate for under $25 at Sams. |

| I restored the original OEM XP to the new drive and I have been able to install several programs and restore many files from back-up. I did not check to see if the money file was write protected (for some dumb reason) but I will check that tomorrow when I am back in front of that unit. Thanks for the idea. Most probably your Money file is from a version newer than Money> drive and a fresh copy of XP standard.) If you installed the Money 2006 trial, you could tell by which extension it would leave on your file backup if you converted your old file. There is an automatic backup made during conversion. Ext Version m15 2006 m14 2005 m12 2004 m11 2003 m10 2002 mn9 2001 |

| I am trying to open a Money file on a newly configured Dell PC (new hard drive and a fresh copy of XP standard.) I reinstalled my copy of MS Money 2001 and tried to open the most recent money file (*.mny from my back up) and it is asking for a password before it will open?? Only problem is that I have never used a password on MS Money....ever! What am I doing wrong or is there a way around this? Any suggestions helpful...Thanks KK |
