There should have been one on the 10th too, which is when this all started coming apart.

I think so. I purchased Money 2006 on August 1, 2005; it's been running perfectly fine up until a few weeks ago. I did not have any of the problems listed in that particular KB article.

Thanks for the suggestions. Right now my problem is also that I can't seem to get this copy of MS 2006 out of Trial Edition, even while logged in to the Passport account I used to purchase it and set up the file. I just spent an hour on the phone with MS Customer Service and Tech Support, who discovered that among other things, the purchase of my copy of Money is listed as "canceled" in the Billing Dept. That apparently is a known issue with Billing, in that they went overboard when trying to clean out accounts, and apparently marked a lot of sales as "canceled" when they weren't really canceled. In the process of trying to transfer me to Billing to sort THAT out, they disconnected my call. When I called back (after having been on the phone with them for over an hour by this point) I was told that they were closing in two minutes, call back tomorrow. Needless to say, I am mightily disgusted. It's going on three weeks now that I have not had ANY access to correct financial data. I have tried the business of starting a new file, but I can't get the correct information into the new file without it downloading the crap from online. I'll have to see if your suggestions on how to wipe out everything online will work.

I don't know if that works, but I would try that. If you want to remove the Passport from a file you may have to turn off background banking at Tools-> Settings-> AccessYourMoneyDataOnTheWeb and then File-> PasswordManager you can choose to remove your Passport. - quote - > I can't wipe out the

Search on "remove". One of the help items seems to say that if you remove the passport from a Money file, you will be offered the chance to delete the online content. Perhaps you could take that new blank file from above, remove the Passport, and the existing online info would go away. I don't know. But it seems worth a try. |

Ok, this is my last shot at trying to get help for my ongoing Money 2006 problems. What do you do if your online information is dead wrong, and keeps downloading into Money and overwriting your current (and correct) file? I've had a number of problems over the past few weeks, and one by one I have them pretty well cleared up, but for some reason, all of a sudden now my Money information that is attached to my Passport account is old and incorrect - it includes a bunch of data like accounts that have long been paid off and closed (they now download and show huge "owed" balances) and scheduled bills that I removed last year because they weren't owed anymore, etc. There are also some bogus or duplicate (I can't tell) transactions being downloaded into existing accounts, because the balances are all WAY off now. I have no idea where this information is coming from, because up until two or so weeks ago, I was using Money 2006 every day and working with my online file with no problems whatsoever. I can't wipe out the Passport account and start another one, because then I'd have to buy Money all over again (as I understand it) I've tried getting support from MS, but they say that my PID # is invalid (I *have* the emailed receipt for Money 2006, I bought it directly from MS fer crysakes, but they won't even talk to me without the PID) and the other options all require payment. I could just work offline, but I have some complicated things going on and being able to download updates saves me hours per week, sometimes per day. I have a good local copy of my accounts as they are supposed to be, but every time I fire it up, all this bogus data gets downloaded - and it goes back to 1995, so it's going to be real difficult to find each piece. Is there NO way to wipe out the online data, and start over from my known existing GOOD file?
