Default Re: Portfolio Manager crash Money 2006

I've been having the exact same problems myself. At least I know, now, that
other people are experiencing it so it is something 'wacky' that I did or
messed up.

I contacted MS Money tech support and this is (apprently) a bug in their
program. No way to fix it so I'm stuck with the export and import option
. Unfortunately not enough people are reporting this problem to MS Money,
hence a lower priority. Also, their development team may not have a way to
reproduce it, in order to fix it, so we might be stuck with this problem for
a while

You just gotta love all of these people who build and support the product
but clearly don't actually use it.

What you describe is exactly what has happened to me. I've contacted tech
support. Their 1st "suggestion" is that my file is corrupt, and I need to try
excluding accounts from the view until I find the one that causes the problem.
2nd suggested step is to archive the file (they say it's too big (55 meg), and
part of the reason for that is that I can't get it to stop downloading prices
for certain stocks). 3rd suggestion is to rebuild the file, i.e. QIF export
(all 20 accounts!) and re-import (setting up the 20 accounts and 100 or so
investments all over again during the import). Some suggestions!

BTW, I finally did figure out how to stop getting prices for a security:
remove the ticker symbol! Nothing else seems to work.

When I attempted to modify my Return view by adding a column (any column) it
loses all the columns. Resetting the view does not fix it. If I fool around
with it (like saving it as another named report) Money starts crashing when
ever I go to my portfolio. Restore is the only fix I have for it.

Default Portfolio Manager crash Money 2006

I have saved several customized views in Portfolio Manager. If I delete a view
named, say ACCOUNT TOTALS, create a new view, then try to save it as ACCOUNT
TOTALS, Money 2006 crashes and closes. After it reopens, if I go to Portfolio
Manager, Money again crashes. i.e. I can no longer access Portfolio Manager.
Repairing the file doesn't fix the problem. The message is that there were "no
broken records" in the file. I have to restore a backup.

Has anyone else seen this? It has happened to me twice. Is there a fix?
