Or are the expenditures from the credit card itself expenses? You need not show transaction forms to edit anything. You can accomplish the same directly in the register. Double-click a transaction to edit, and you'll see the details. If you want to see that detail level all the time, use the Ctrl-T toggle to show 'all transaction details' vs. 'top line only'. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Thanksfor the help. I tried putting in just the word 'transfers' in help and found the problem. In the adsvanced register you must checkmark the lower left box that says 'show transaction forms'. Then edit the transaction in the bottom form and voila - it gives you a choivce of crefit card payment or creit card transfer. Once i switched the credit card never showed in the pie chart (not very obvious and I ould have expected Money 2006 to realize that CC payments are already categorized for the spending category) -- ATB "Chris Cowles" wrote: - quote - > "theTavern" <erols[at]comcast.net> wrote in message > news:0111D6C9-F8C3-4236-82DD-CF2FDFFDC349[at]microsoft.com... > > Chris, > > > Thx for the reply but in Money 2006 it already has assigned it to "Credit > > card payments/transfers" and lists it as an expense in a group category > > they > > call "Special". If I'm reading correctly, it's clearer. Go to the credit card account. Look for the check box labeled "Include this account in the budget planner". I think you'll find it's not checked. Check the box, re-display the pie chart, and post back with the result. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Chris, Thx for the reply but in Money 2006 it already has assigned it to "Credit card payments/transfers" and lists it as an expense in a group category they call "Special". The problem is for the pie chart to look right it must be a transfer since the pie chart shows all expenses. Here is a simple example: 4 expenses of $500 for auto, $500 mortgage, $500 entertainment, $500 "other" and a transfer of $2000 to credit card to pay off card. The "Spending by category" pie chart should show each category a 25% and nothing for credit card. Instead it shows credit card as 50% and the other $500 expenses as 12.5% each. However I only 'spent' $2000 in this simple example - the other $2000 for credit card was in lieu of making out 4 checks in this case. Hope that is clearer. -- ATB "Chris Cowles" wrote: - quote - > "theTavern" <erols[at]comcast.net> wrote in message > news:B57254E0-7662-4CC9-A164-B40ABD3FF6E6[at]microsoft.com... > > Hi, > > > Just got started on Mloney 2006. There's another 'special' category called "Credit Card Payment: " which is a transfer in disguise. If you can find the category you're using for credit card payment by going to the categories and payees page, it's a simple expense category, not a transfer. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Hi, Just got started on Mloney 2006. I pay almost everything by credit catrd and then pay it off at the end of the month to get the 2 percent rebate. However in the pie charts showing all my expenses the expenses take up 50% of the pie chart but are distorted by the fact that my bank transfer to pay the card is treated as an expense so the credit card is 50% also when actually the credit card expenses already show up all correctly categorized. How do I astop this? I used category "bank transfer/cc" to pay the credit card (which ultimately paid all other expenses. -- ATB |
