| I was able to reproduce your problem using Money 2006 Canadian Edition. Having said that, please keep in mind that I am just another Money user who comes to this site when I need it and occassionally is able to help others. The volunteers who work hard to keep this site viable have often been quite helpful to me. I hope you realize from the replies to this post that an apology is probably in order. | Hey, dingbat!!!!! Neither are any of us. Try opening a support case directly with Microsoft. I bet you can't get them to care, either, but they you'll spare the rest of us who are just trying to help FELLOW USERS. I would suggest you direct your vituperative comments to Microsoft, as this> cannot get anyone to fix this situation. > Here's an EASY way to show you what the problem is: > Go in and make the following transactions under an Investment Account in > your SAMPLY.MNY file. > Buy a Cash Money Market in the amount of $1,000 (at $1/share) on 10/01/05. > Now, enter a "Reinvested Interest" amount of $10.00 (at $1/share) on 12/31/05. > Okay, go to the report and look at the "Return for Period" column and see > what the problem is (it will say your return was $20 - not $10). > Just make these two simple, easy-to-understand and reproducable transactions > and you will be able to find and fix a MAJOR error in Money 2006. > Please take this seriously. I cannot reproduce your problem in M2003. Is it possible for you to see if you get the same result in M2003? If you do, then there may be an issue with how you are entering the data. --ron |

You've mentioned this before, in the same arrogant tone.> Aren't you guys supposed to be the elite? Microsoft doesn't work here. We're volunteers and have no influence over what Microsoft does or doesn't do. What part of that do you not understand? Microsoft rarely releases updates to existing programs and, when that happens, it's usually shortly after the initial release of a new version. Some ugly bugs have remained in Money for years, despite repeated requests to fix it, and explicit directions as to how to replicate it. Having said this, how many more times are you going to post the same complaint in the same obnoxious tone? -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| The "Performance by Investment Type or Account" Reports are WRONG and I cannot get anyone to fix this situation. Here's an EASY way to show you what the problem is: Go in and make the following transactions under an Investment Account in your SAMPLY.MNY file. Buy a Cash Money Market in the amount of $1,000 (at $1/share) on 10/01/05. Now, enter a "Reinvested Interest" amount of $10.00 (at $1/share) on 12/31/05. Okay, go to the report and look at the "Return for Period" column and see what the problem is (it will say your return was $20 - not $10). Just make these two simple, easy-to-understand and reproducable transactions and you will be able to find and fix a MAJOR error in Money 2006. Please take this seriously. Make these two transaction entries and then look at the report for all dates. THIS IS A MICROSOFT PROGRAMMING error and if your programmer's egos are too big to handle the fact that they made a mistake - that is there problem. In the meantime, this report is MY PROBLEM!!!! I am tired of having to export it into Excel and fix the numbers (I have had Money for over 10 years so I know this is new). So easy for me to figure out and I'm not the one working for Microsoft. Aren't you guys supposed to be the elite? |
