You are lucky indeed. Or oblivious.

Have you ever looked at the Related Links on the lower left of every account
register? (To name just one location chock full of ads.)

I use money2006 standard. I have not seen any spam or advertising of
any kind.

Quicken/Quickbooks is another good program. When I used their past version,
it had no ads in it.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know there was a money-back guarantee. And
thanks for maintaining the FAQ.

For Sale, Cheap: One copy of MS Money Premium 2006.

I can't stand the spam. I'm going back to 2003.

The question is not whether they reach everyone they'd like to reach. The
question is whether their advertising investment is retuned + profit on the
investment. Clearly the advertisers are convinced it is. By a wide margin.

Assuming that advertising decisions are based on objective information
(i.e., increase in sales as a result), you must be in the minority. Others
may FEEL as you do, but they apparently do not ACT as you do.

planet like that. At least, not forever.

Actually, they only do it because it's productive. It might not work to get
you to buy something, but it does work to get more other people to buy
something.

I'm not arguing that it's good, only that it's financially productive. As
long as that's true, it will continue or increase.

Default Re: What's with all the SPAM?

I stopped watching television and listening to radio because of all the
damned advertising.

I stopped going to my local grocery store because they have advertising on
the floor, and advertising waving in the aisles, and talking ads in the deli
and the checkout lines, plus their dumbass "membership" cards. I drive to
another store five miles away instead.

I uninstalled Flash from my computer because I hate the zooming, flashing,
noisy ads it gives me.

The web sites I visit most frequently are the ones to which I have bought a
subscription that allows me to read them without ads.

I refuse to wear clothing that displays the manufacturer's logo. (I'll
reconsider, if they offer to pay me.)

I never, ever, EVER buy anything from a company that has spammed me. I do
get advertising flyers by email, but only from retailers I signed up with
and can unsubscribe from.

Yet I still can't get away from it! They now have blindingly bright flashing
signs along the highway! I thought that was illegal. It sure ought to be.

If I go to the beach, they have those goddamned airplanes buzzing back and
forth, trying to sell me sunscreen! Or tires, or a stupid tv show.

All this, and I know that advertising is extremely expensive. One of these
days, those morons are going to realize that what they're doing is
counterproductive. It might not be in my lifetime though.

I upgrade from Money Premium 2003 to 2006, and Microsoft rewards me by
putting spam all over hell. I selected "Turn off sponsorship and advertising
links", and I still get spam on my screens. M$ should be paying ME for this!

Can anyone recommend a REAL home finance/investment software package that
has NO SPAM? I'd happily pay any reasonable price.
