| I have no clue. There have been many more significant issues that have lasted multiple versions despite wish list items and support cases. There are many other basically dumb things in the design that just never get fixed. I'd put many of these in the design of recurring transactions. (This one and the general issue that there are many types of transactions that are trivial to enter but impossible to schedule. Oh, and let's not forget the Paycheck morph.) But note my thread "Recurring Investments should require Amount only" and the assertion of the Web-newsgroup interface that "Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes". Go vote for it. Vote early. Vote often. Let's see what happens in Money 2008 or 2009, if there is even a non web-service standalone Money application by then. | Yes, but how do we get Microsoft to acknowledge this and submit a fix? I realize that I can input any numbers I want to and change them when it's time to enter them into the portfolio but why should I have to do this when this part of Money has virtually been the same since I started using it in 1999? | Don't let the lack of response mislead you into thinking that this hasn't come up before and your fellow users don't agree this is a sign of incredible ignorance on the part of the Money developers as to how the world of investing really works. | A big difference I have noted between Money 05 and Money 06 is when you try to set up a recurring investment. I trade with Sharebuilder as a smalltime investor and therefore I spend a predetermined amount of money, not buy a predetermined amount of stocks. I have noted that when trying to set up or change a recurring investment in Money 2006, stock price and quantity are both required. If we knew what the price of a stock would be at a certain time then we would all be rich. This, in my opinion, is a major flaw in what has been to date a user friendly part of this program. |
