You have to delete each payee individually, but the move process can besimplified as below: Use Tools> Find and Replace. Select Advanced Search. Click the Payees tab and select all iterations of the payee that you want to consolidate. Click Next. Click Replace. "Replace all the transactions found" with the desired payee. Go to payee list. Click on undesired payee, press Delete key or Alt-L, or click Delete button. Click Yes or Alt-Y. Work your way through the list. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Thanks for both of your suggestions--I'll give them a try! I thought that a bulk move of payees seemed like it would be an intuitive feature, but I guess not. You're right--it probably won't take too long for me to move payees one by one. I suppose I've just gotten used to "drag and drop" functionality in so many other programs. Thanks again! Actually, the thing that is going to help in the future would be to> Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServiceSetting, and select > ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. I expect it would take about ten minutes. How long do you think it> these moves one payee at a time, and it is a very labor-intensive process as > this situation exists with a number of other payees. would take? After you do it, or even if you choose not to, I suggest you go to Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServiceSetting, and select ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. This should help for the future. - quote - > I use Money 2004 Standard. |

| This question is closely related to Mero's inquiry, posted 5/1/2005 at 11:15 AM PST. Is there any way to do a bulk move of several payees? For example, I have about 15 different Shell Oil payees in my payee list (eg. Shell Oil Kala, Shell Oil E Lans, Shell Oil Chic, etc.). I'd like to be able to just select them all at the same time (eg. with ctrl/shift + mouse click) and move them into a single payee that I named Shell Oil. Currently, I only know how to do these moves one payee at a time, and it is a very labor-intensive process as this situation exists with a number of other payees. I use Money 2004 Standard. Thanks in advance! |
