Not really what I was after. Money must keep a list somewhere.

Don't know if QIF, per se, does that, but Money does a decent job of
remembering the last category you used for a particular payee. You may need
to change a setting related to auto-fill, or something like that. Also, for
OFX downloaded transactions, it tries to do some guessing if it doesn't
already know the payee, and sometimes gets it right.

Is there no way to pair up Payees with Categories, for example, I want all
Payees which include *Woolworth* and *Coles* (which are downloaded via QIF
import) to be categorised as "Groceries"?

Tools> Settings> Account Settings (global)> Use Auto-Complete.

There are other settings on that page you may want to play around with.

Change settings to use auto-fill. That will remember previous payee-category
suggestions.

Default Categories-Please help with setup

Just installed Delux 2006. I'm looking for a way to assign categories as
global to certain expenses. Example: Dr. Jones would always be Health:
Physian. As is now I am entering these individually. If it matters I am
with Bank of America doing auto downloads of statements.

TIA,
Victor
