| Mine didn't crash but I did have an issue with my password not working. To fix it I would goto the passport webpage login and leave that window open then launch Money. After a few times of doing this everything seemed to work normal i no longer need to "pre-loggin" Ryan Cal Learner-- MVP wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Greg wrote: > > same problem here... | An odd yet related thing. If I tell it to work offline and use the new Passport password, it says it's wrong. If I tell it to work offline and use the OLD Passport password, I'm prompted to let the program verify the contents of the file. When I say yes, it tries and then fails, telling my the password is incorrect. sean_dc |

| I have used MS Money products for a decade now, and have occassionly run into problems that I was able to fix on my own. But this one has got my stumped. Launched MS Money 2006, entered my Passport password it started to open then the program crashed. When I try to reopen, I'm prompted for my password, it says that I didn't close the file last time and that it needs to verify the contents, I click yes, I starts and then stops saying my password is incorrect. To troubleshoot, I open a test Money file w/ the same Passport, everything works fine. I changed my Passport password, and I get the exact same error described above with the new password. However, if I start fresh and put in the wrong password, I'm not told about needing to verify the contents. Instead, I'm told my password is incorrect. So it appears that in the process of verifying my file, MS Money itself is corrupting what I typed in as the Passport password. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Money 2006, and the same thing is still happening. I have tried the command line switch -s, and the scenario is the second paragraph is repeated. I have downloaded the super salvage utility, which is prompting me for a password. I'm not sure how it is able to validate a Passport password, but it won't recognize either the old one or the new one. My last backup was Feb. 12, and I just spent a lot of time cleaning up registers and updating my bill calendar. Anyone with any suggestions would be appreciated. sean_dc Win XP SP2 Dell Inspiron 9100 MS Money 2006 |
