Not up on OFX but I envision is as simply a flat file format. ie Key
words and values type of thing. Considering all that is involved in
bill payment and I sort of have my doubts that OFX is the univeral do
it all.

I think that both MS and NB program to a common API, ie, OFX. It's an
industry standard. Everybody pays for it, indirectly.

You are correct, however one is adding another failure point. I have
never used bank bill payment from inside Mny. Don't want to, don't
need to.

In order for Mny to speak to NB bill paying, Mny must program to the
API of NB. Who pays for this? Do you get to see everything happening
to your transactions from Mny or is that completely hidden from you?

I was confusing with MSN bill paying. There must be profit in it.

Huh? If associated with banks supporting Microsoft Money 'directly', all
transactions are kept locally and are between you and the bank. What does
trusting Gates with my money, and exposure to insider thieves have to do
with it?

We ( family ) have been NetBank customers for many years. I pay most
of my bills online via the bank, also have auto payment for my CC and
phone company. I have no interest in allowing Mny to pay MY bills. I
do not trust Gates with my money. All we need is more exposure to
insider thieves. How do you think most id thief happens? No way am I
going to get into the finger pointing and blame control games.

The problem is not just NetBank, or with any bank. I have BB&T and I
keep getting the same error message when trying to send epay's through
Money.

That the root cause of the problem. While I do have a NetBank account to get
a fairly high interest rate, I find their customer support abysmal.

That's my opinion. Yours may differ.

Default Switched to NetBank and now can't ePay bills.

So after being using KeyBank bill pay flawlessly for like 4 years I decided
to try and save 10 bucks a month by switching to NetBank for the free MS
Money: http://www.netbank.com/banking_ofx.htm

I ran into a problem with bill pay and here's a log of my "Bank Mail"
correspondence with NetBank.

==================
Sent: 02/08/2006
I've been able to sync my netbank accounts from within MS Money. Also, the
available services for NetBank in Money are "Online Updates" and "Online
bill payment". However, when I try to pay a bill I get a message "The
payment was not processed for the following reason: The password or PIN you
entered was wrong. Please try again."

The password I used to connect to NetBank is the same one I use on the
website. This allows for downloads and should allow for bill pay as well.
I never had this problem with KeyBank; the bank I hope to be switching from
if I can get anything working the way it should.

Thanks for your help.
-Jeremy

Did you read my message? Anyway...

To answer your questions.
1) Money 2006 Premium.
2) Windows XP Pro.
3) There is NO ERROR in the call summary. This is happening when I try to
PAY A BILL, not call in.
4) Cable modem.

Again, this problem does not occur with my other bank. It's only when trying
to pay a bill (using the Epay method) through NetBank. I was actually able
to transfer money between my NetBank accounts using Money 2006 without
issue.

=========*Then I sent another message*=========
Sent: 02/16/2006
This is in conjunction with the last Bnak Mail I sent.

To test if it was truely a NetBank Problem, I started a brand new Microsoft
Money file and only added my NetBank checking account. After inputting my
username and password Money connects to NetBank without problem and
downloads all account transactions. Also, under "Provided Services" it shows
Statement Download, and Online Bill Pay. Again, there is no error in the
call summary.

So, I tried paying a bill using Money again. This time the error message was
slightly different and there was an error code provided.

The message was "The Internet, banking, or brokerage server could not
process the request. Please try your call again later. (OFXHTTP400).

I'm not sure if that's actually helpful, but I'm hoping I actually here back
from some one on this issue soon.

Thanks,
-Jeremy
============================

I've been on the phone with customer support and they are of no help...
absolutely useless when it comes to Microsoft Money (3 different people). I
actually had to prove to one of them that they provide bill pay through
Money by pointing them to their own website. They won't let me talk to a
tech support person on the phone. I almost got one the other day but was
once again directed to "bank mail".

I thought I'd put my story here in case others were thinking about choosing
NetBank. I'm sure it would be great if all goes smoothly to begin with.
However, any technical hicup and you find yourself dealing with some pretty
inept customer support personel.

If anyone out there has some advice on how I can get bill pay working I
would gladly take it.
MSKB says it could be that I've tried unsuccessfully too many times (which I
doubt is the case because it was giving this error the very first time):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/124843/
But even if this is the problem I haven't heard back from Netbank since for
11 days. I doubt they'll be getting back to me any time soon.

Wachovia here I come???
