Unlikely. Use the newly reinstalled Money 2000 to create a new file. Ignore> 2000. > uploaded floppy backup files and typed in the pass word which the prompt > will not accept. What gives here? Update online. It should download some program updates. After installing update, exit Money, restart. Try to open old data file again. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| I am having the same problem. Got a new computer and reinstalled Money 2000. uploaded floppy backup files and typed in the pass word which the prompt will not accept. What gives here? I positively absolutely know the pass word is correct. Could this be something the I-T guy here at work get past our security system, etc.? I suspect one got updated by automatic download and the other did not.> 2001 > money off of the same disk Therefore they're not exactly the same version. On the laptop, open the sample file or create a new one. Connect to the internet and let Money update (download quotes). If the laptop version does not have the most recent program updates, it should download them. The laptop and desktop probably will match, then. As Dick advised, look at Help> About to confirm. If that happens, then try to restore the desktop version on the laptop. I don't know if Microsoft continues to update older program versions after online updates have expired according to the terms in the license agreement. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| You're 110% sure of that? Open the sample file stored in the installation folder on each machine. Got to Help|About. Compare the version numbers.
