| Hello Cal Leaner, I have M2006 question also: I am experience the bug in a Money 2006 Premium. I am using MS Money 2006. My Problem: "Portfolio Manager" (PM) doesn't show all closed transaction compare to "Investment Transactions" (IT). Many closed Investments transactions for Buy/Sell stocks and options from IT don’t show up in PM. I have multiple accounts from the different brokers, like Ameritrade, eTrade, BrownCo, Merrill Lynch. Its effect all of them. I do have turn ON and OFF and ON again "Show Closed Transactions" and "Show closed accounts". I did run File-> Fix Money File-> Quick and Standard - it doesn't fix anything. I used MS Money versions from 2002 to 2006. This problem starts only with 2006. I found many of post about problem similar to my. I found kind of fix for this problem - if I delete one part of the invisible closed Trans, (like delete "Sell to Close") and manually add it back, this close trans. became visible in PM and all trans. for this stock or option. To fix problem for all other invisible in PM closed trans., I have to repeat delete/re-create steps again for each one of them. It shouldn't work like this. PM should match IT if I select "Show Closed Transactions". Do you have a fix for this problem? Thanks. | Thanks Cal, your rapid reply is much appreciated, and very clear. After the reorganization goes through, I may be back in touch for help with the "split ratio integers," if I can't get those ratios determined myself. Thanks again, Dirk "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, dirkOH wrote: > > As of next week one of my mutual funds is being merged into another mutual > > fund. I cannot simply "rename" the fund because the share > price will be very different. 1. Do an appropriate split of the fund. You will need to input the split ratio a ratio of integers (1 ... 65535). Post the ratio you want to achieve if you would like a suitable pair of integers. 2. In the investment details, change the symbol. 3. Change the investment name. 4. Add a brief comment to the investment to explain the change. |

| As of next week one of my mutual funds is being merged into another mutual fund. This will be a non-taxable transaction in which the cost basis of the original shares will be maintained in the new mutual fund. How can I make this change in Microsoft Money? If I sell all the original shares and buy the shares in the new fund at the new price on the transfer day, the cost basis will be lost. I cannot simply "rename" the fund because the share price will be very different. |
