Default Re: Closed account not so closed?

As a follow up, I have this issue also. Accounts closed long ago still show
up in my monthly reports. Earlier posts stated that you can't customize a
monthly report but I would think you would have the option to not report on
closed accounts? Any other ideas?

Downloads go into closed accounts - there have been other threads on this.
It's the dumbest thing, but that's the way it works. You just have to Hide
CLosed Accounts and the amounts won't be reflected under Banking (in Money
2006).

For your reports, you can customize them to not include closed accounts.
Otherwise you get the data from closed accounts included.

Makes you wonder what Microsoft thinks a "closed account" really is....

Default Closed account not so closed?

Hi All...

I have (had) an investment account with E*Trade, which I have since
closed. In MS Money 2006, I have it as "Account Is Closed", in the account
list.

There are a few weird things going on:

1. When I go into the account list, this account appears in gray with
$0.00 next to it, but the "To Review" column has "Update in Progress" in
it. This account is definately not part of my regular online updates
(though when it was active, it was).

2. When I click into this account, 2 securities are listed. Neither one of
them has Quantity or Cost Basis, both both list something in the "Gain"
column. I thought that once I've sold out of a security, it shouldn't show?

3. Finally, each of my Monthly Reports for the past few months are showing
this E*Trade account as having some performance. In fact, in this month
it's showing something like 14% gain, whereas a few months ago there was a
2% loss - meanwhile this account has nothing in it, and is infact closed.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I would like to get these weird
side-effects to go away (unless they somehow make sense? I don't think so!)

Thanks a lot!

-Edrick
