| David, I have NEVER used the so called essential budget because it apparently is for people who don't want to think out their financial situation. Probably there is a bug in the program that messes everything up when you attempt to switch back and forth between essential and advanced. If you can, I would open a NEW file in money. I would then set the defaults to advanced budget. I would then input the last saved data which worked for you and see what happens. Good luck. | All, I cannot switch back to advanced budget. I have spent MANY hours setting up my accounts (new file) again following a debt reduction planner failure which I could not recover from. This is another story! As a result, I decided to start using the advanced budget with my newly organized and fresh file! I entered all the data and then chose to save the budget and revert to the essential budget. I decided it didn't quite have the detail I wanted so I went to switch back and it just won't do it. I have tried all the usual remedies 1) Repair money file. No broken records 2) Reinstall money. Still won't switch over. 3) Delete all budget entries for income/expenses and then switch. Same result. The weird part about the budget is that at any given time, the income section of the essential budget always has three line items set to zero, regardless if I delete them. Upon reentry into the income section, there they are again. I am at a total loss and if I have to set up my accounts one more time to get around this, I'll be doing it in Quicken this time. I have been using money for about 8 years now and only up until 2005's changes did I start having troubles with ALL SORTS OF THINGS! ARRRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!! Help me fix this problem someone! David |
