| Well I finally found my particular problem. Some years ago my hotmail account broke with Money and I had to create a new account [at]msnmoney.com. I was still using my hotmail account for logging in to MSN. Someone on another thread said to blow away all temporary internet files, including passwords. Well lo and behold it worked. Mind you, when I logged back in to MSN again with my hotmail account, Money broke again. Again getting rid of the password files it worked again. So it would appear that the two different .net accounts were not compatible. If I only use MSN with Firefox I don't have this problem. All of the various gyrations of uninstall, reinstall, reboots galore never fixed my problem until I discovered this particular problem. If anyone else has a similar situation, they may find this to help rectify their situation. "Bob Peel, MVP" wrote: - quote - > You are correct. That is the nature of Betas. | You are correct. That is the nature of Betas. There is no guarantee that they will work with any existing software and may well crash your PC causing data loss. | Hi Daniel, I'm no longer experiencing the problem but I almost hate to tell you how I'd fixed it simply because of the method that I'd taken: I'd reformatted the computer, installed all available Windows updates, installed MS Money 2006, and then installed IE7 Beta 2 Preview and everything now works. Unfortunately, I was never able to get MS Money 2006 and IE7 working before the reformat. I could restore MS Money 2006 online functionality by removing IE7 but I could not get them working together. I wish that I had better advice or an idea of exactly why the two wouldn't work together. :/ Best of luck, John "Daniel Collens" wrote: - quote - > Well I uninstalled IE7 and no luck. | Well I uninstalled IE7 and no luck. I also reinstalled Money 2006 and again the same problem. I am thinking that there must be a residual in the registry that might be causing the problem. Luckily I can still log in offline. Everything works fine after that but it is a bit of a pain. | I have been having exactly the same problem that John mentioned in his original post. I hadn't related it to IE7, but I am now thinking that this might be the time that I found the problem. when I try to log in the program tells me that my passport Id or password is incorrect. | There's no guarantee that B2 will fix this. Depends how MS works. Do the Money people point the finger at the IE7 people and say "change IE7 so it doesn't break Money" or do the IE7 people do the same in reverse. I suspect we may have to wait until M2007 to get this fixed. | Thanks for the suggestions. ![]() Unfortunately, I'd tried exactly the steps that you'd mentioned (including the reboot after Money's reinstall before opening the program). After uninstalling IE7, Money began working again. I'll probably just stick it out until the full Beta 2 release and then try it again. | I can log in fine. Running Money 2006 Premium and IE 7 Beta 2. The only thing is that the Home page takes longer than normal to load now and sometimes other pages at random. But still very useable. You may want to try reinstalling Money 2006. Make sure you reboot before running Money after reinstalling, even if it doesn't ask you to (known issue with IE7).
