| Just a thought. I have not tried this myself. What about export the transactions, make necessary changes in the exported file and import it into the new account? I keep the transaction files from my brokerages. So I don't have to export the transactions in your situation. Good luck. | I am using Microsoft Money 2005 Deluxe. I want to merge several investment accounts into one account. When I use the merge feature, I am told that the history of the investments will be kept in the original invesment account. This non-transferral of history is problematic when I want to sell a fund. Before the merge, when I sold a fund, I was told the capital gains or loss for that fund. I must keep this information. It helps me to determine my investment decisions and that is why I spent hours typing in all of my investment transactions I have made since the early 1980's. I have determined that I can cut and paste each individual transaction for an account into the new account. (I can not seem to highlight lots of transactions at once.) This will take me hours of busy work that I am hoping will not be necessary. Interestingly, if I try to cut and paste a transaction that has no bearing on my current shares of a fund, I am told that I can not. And that is fine. I want to be able to easily transfer my history from several accounts into one account becuase they have been merged with my investor. I would like to know if there is an easier way to merge my account information complete with history in Money 2005. If not, will an upgrade allow me to accomplish my goal? Thank you in advance for answering my questions. I appreciate a prompt response even if you are unable to help. |
