| Ted, I have run into exactly this problem. After starting up MS Money 2006, it immediately goes into its online updates mode, and sits and spins for well over an hour. It never really times out - I just stop the program altogether because it sits and consumes CPU for so long. You can't turn off Internet updates while it's doing this, you can't try and enable updates for accounts while doing this, you're essentially stuck until it's done doing whatever it is. I've solved the problem tonight by turning off the sync with MSN Money and the Money servers. Ever since I upgraded from MS Money 2005 to 2006 a couple weeks ago, I've had nothing but problems. It's slower, it doesn't sync with MBNA, it sits and spins in this online update mode forever. I've tried new Passport, new Money file, reverting back to MS Money 2005. Nothing. It's a shame this is what the upgrade to MS Money 2006 has gotten me. Shame on me for not trying the trial version first before purchasing this. | When I started using online updates to my bank I started having problems with MSN.EXE it starts taking CPU and Memory at a medium rate after about an hour or so it will get as high as 91% of the CPU. Has anyone else run into this problem? When I close MSN a display will show pending updates for the online update to the bank and Email updates with options wait till updates complete (Which never happen) or close now without completing I now choose this one. It is updating the banks but never seems to recongize when updates are complete. -- Ted Cooper |
