| Yes, I agree with your conclusion, however, the Redeem CD transaction instructions indicate the interest is to be entered during this transaction as a separate entry from the face value amount. If I don't enter the interest, then I don't have the correct amount to redeem for the new CD. Any suggestions? | My suspicion--and that's all as I haven't tested it--is that your reinvest interest transactions are duplicating your redemption at the accrued value which implicitly, if not explicitly, recognizes the gain in value as some kind of investment income. | 1. I set up an investment acct to track CD's. 2. I have entered each CD as a BUY & reinvested interest monthly for each CD. 3. I redeem each CD at original value plus interest earned on that CD. 4. I buy a new CD at the new value. Problem: In portfolio it shows a doubling of the gain for each CD. What am I doing wrong? Is there step by step help online? If so, please don't hesitate to direct me to it. Thanks so much for any help. |
