| So, your issue is that an Account Balance History shows an opening balance when only one Payee is selected? Why wouldn't you expect to see a beginning balance? It's trying to show you what the selected *account* began at for the period in question and what it was after allowing for the transactions you've allowed it to show. Granted, it's kinda goofy. But an **account balance** report that only reflects one Payee is kinda goofy too. It's an Account Balance History report, not a Transactions by Payee report. Why don't you try Transactions by Payee if that's what you want? | The way I added a paycheck was in the bills sumamry page: selected new, selected paycheck and followed the directions for tracking gross pay. I entered it as a recurring transaction and have only posted two paychecks. This information was not downloaded and payee "my place of work" was added at the same time as the first paycheck was entered. On the reports page, I selected the account balance history and customized to deselect all payees minus "my place of work". The report shows a beginning balance dated before the first deposit was made. "Dick Watson" wrote: - quote - > Accounts have opening balances. Transactions--of which Paycheck is one > form--do not. | Accounts have opening balances. Transactions--of which Paycheck is one form--do not. For this reason, I'm not sure I understand your question. Did you tell Money that the account you are entering the Paychecks in was at some bank or other? Did you tell Money how to get the data from your bank's website? | I recently added a new paycheck and have only made two such deposits to my bank. My questions is: Why is the Report showing an opening balance? For example: Opening Balance: 1,581.85 Month Ending 01/31/06 01/20/2006 Deposit Paycheck -- 1,265.00 01/27/2006 Deposit Paycheck -- 1,265.00 Where is Money 2006 getting that initial 1,581.85 from? The running balance should only reflect the two deposits totaling 2,350.00, but it shows a total of 4,111.85. |
