When Money uses a file with the same Passport that you used when you bought Money, it will download the appropriate things and adjust the version that you see in Help-> About.... See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 and follow it if you want your Money file to use the same Passport on your Money file that you used when you bought Money. If you want something other than to do that, such as not having a Passport on your machine because you do not want to access your data via a Microsoft web server, do something slightly different. Create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Let Money download data that it needs. Close Money. Restart Money. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |

| I recently received the new Taxcut 2005 CD in the mail and installed it. The confirmation email included an offer for a $29.95 rebate for MS Money 2006 Standard (which made it free). Using the link to the Microsfot Money Special offers page, I clicked on the "download" button and was taken to the page to sign-in to Passport. I then had to register with MSN to set up an account. After activating my purchase, the next page stated that I had successfully purchased Microsoft Money 2006 and would receive an email with rebate instructions and a download link. I received a confirmation email stating that I had purchased MS Money Standard 2006 for $29.95. However, I did not receive any email about the actual download or the rebate process. What should have happened? Has anyone anything to share about downloading the Money software online? I ordered the program 2 days ago and still no email. |
