Thanks very much. I deleted the MM acct and won't fight city hall. It now
sweeps all transactions into and out of the cash acct.

It depends on what your provider sends. Fidelity ignores the cash account
sweep transactions, so I do, to. Other users are desperate to show every MMF
purchase transaction. Why, I can't figure out.

That's two questions.

You can convert from one type of investment to another. See
http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=81.

You can ignore the fact there's an MMF and keep the money in a cash account
instead IF you decouple from downloaded transaction data trying to tell
Money otherwise. I think the consensus of the downloaders here would be that
you have to pick whether you want things your way by hand or the FIs way
automagically via downloaded data.

Default Hot to make cash acct use money market

I upgraded to from an older money to 2006. It imported money market acct as
a mutual fund investment... can't find way to change it to money market type.
Bigger issue is how to force the investment account to use the money market
as the assigned cash account and drop the money market listing from the
investments area?. Couldn't find another thread on this point. Thanks for
the help.
