| Oh I know, I still have this happening too. The only way I was able to get it to work, was to create a new Money file and pull in data from MSN, but of course now it's been weeks since the problem started again and my MSN data is way in need of updating. I've had to use that work-around at least four times now. Ridiculous! valerie wrote: - quote - > I don't think they will ever resolve this issue! | I don't think they will ever resolve this issue! I'm new to the newsgroup but have used several versions of Money since 2000. I now have the problem with two accounts: MBNA and Sam's Club Credit. | Yes, Money has lost this part of its luster. Fortunately, the sites themselves have gotten better, so it may be better to vist them online and not worry too much about whether Money can talk with them. I think that some of it is providers providing more security so that a simple username and password may no longer be enough. For example, when I access Bank of America from an infrequently used computer, BOA knows that and throws me an additional challenge question. Just an exapmle but online acess is getting both more difficult and safer. "Joel R. | I'll tell you - I'm about at my wits end as well. What's worse is I have a number of statements just stacking up on my desk (the ones that I enter manually into Money). I'm afraid to enter all this stuff now, for fear that I'm going to be forced back to Money 2005 and enter it all over again. What's interesting is that I corresponded with support and they had me try something interesting. They had me create a new Passport account *and* a new Money file. I setup my MBNA credit card account in this new file and was able to sync just beautifully. But I then tried to use my original Money 2006 file (the one I upgraded from Money 2005) with this new Passport. It still couldn't sync. It just sat there forever and I ended up with the same situation as before. One other thing I noticed, and maybe this is simply due to the sync problems, but I thought that the performance of Money 2005 during sync operations was slow but acceptable. Now, though, this thing is absolutely glacial. As it's trying to sync and do online updates, the MS Money 2006 program is simply unusable it's so slow. I may have to turn off online updates altogether, especially if to get the MBNA updates, I have to go through this whole sync with MSN Money. I have lots of accounts and lots of data, and this thing just becomes catatonic after a while. It's a shame - I would have never expected an upgrade that costs Money to ruin this for me. Good luck. | I have been a msmoney user for years. This update 2006 and the bank security issues have finally done it. I am going to quicken. They are working correctly with almost all the banks that microsoft is having issues with. We use Quickbooks where I work and our account is with BOA. No issues here. Money 2006 hangs much more than ever before. I takes way too long for me to be able to use the product after it has loaded. If I try to do anything before it is ready, lock up.................. | Thanks for the info. I've been getting that same CashEdge synchronization error since Thursday evening (1/19). I have deleted my information up on MSN several times and tried to create new accounts to re-active the synch for my checking and several credit cards. All with no luck. This is the second time in four weeks that my accounts have stopped auto-synching. The accounts that use OFX have never had problems --- only those that rely on MSN and its links to account aggreagation services like Yodlee and CashEdge. The third-party synchronization seems to fail periodically as banks update their security to rely on images (showing a number) during login authentication to improve their security against automated hacking routines. In the future, when my autosynch fails, I'll check back on this board to see if others are having problems. I hope this specific CashEdge problems gets fixed soon. I wasted at least three hours this weekend trying to get around this. ![]() |

| I just got off the phone with them and they are having a problem with 3rd party auto download feature when adding new accounts. Apparently the problem started yesterday and they are trying to fix it. So that's my problem since yesterday I tried adding the accounts. I know some of you reported having trouble for weeks or it used to work and now dosn't. I don't know if it's all related but I hope that they do get this fixed in a few days because I think the auto download is a really great feature. Good luck! | I just purchased Money 2006 Premium yesterday (nice timing, eh) and was only able to setup a couple of accounts. MBNA, Presidential, WaMu etc all failed. Chatted with support and they said it's a CashEdge problem. I gather that is one of their third party providers for banks not offering the OFX interface. They said to check back today, and as of now (1PM eastern) it is still not working. Kind of frustrating as I had blocked off a good chunk of time this weekend to get everything setup properly. |

In Money 06 Premium, AMEX works fine but the 2 I think the most infuriating part (besides the program not doing what it should do) is that it updated fine for about a week and then just stopped working for no apparent reason. | I'm having the same problem. Or similar anyway I upgraded from Money 2003 so this is my first time using this automotic download feature for some of my accounts. My Discover card worked perfect with Money 2003 auto download feature and still works great now after the upgrade to 2006. To learn more, on the Tools menu, point to Internet Updates, and then click Read Call Summary Messages." When I do that I get "Some accounts were not updated successfully. Please try setting up these accounts again." I report tomorrow afternoon any thing I find out! Until this is fixed I guess I'll have to keep manually downloading statements from each individual institution's web site like I did with Money 2003. | Doug, If it's any consolation, I'm in exactly the same boat. I have a Fidelity MBNA credit card which worked just great in MS Money 2005 (importing daily transactions, that is). After upgrading to MS Money 2006 last weekend, it wiped out my connection to MBNA, and every time I try to reestablish it, it either sits and hangs for a couple hours, or it will say that updates are not available. I took something that worked flawlessly, and after the upgrade, I simply cannot get this to work. It shouldn't be this difficult, should it? | Thanks for shedding some light on the situation JC. I would imagine that WAMU uses a third party as their bank website is lacking in functionality as well. I guess it caught me off guard because these accounts have been updated without error for the last several months... I too am interested to see if anyone else has an answer. | Doug, This reply will not help you fix the problem but maybe shed some light on the situation. My Money 2006 software demonstrates the same behavor. Over the past five or six months, I have worked with three different Microsoft techies. I finally got to the point I lost interest in making work. As I understand it there is a Microsoft partner program that some financial institutions belong that use Microsoft standards in "OXF" downloading. Those are represented by American Express among others. Like you, the other accounts I have complain exactly the same as you. These institutions are not members of the OFX program, and are serviced by third party companies they employ to provide on line banking. Wheather or not they work automatically is a roll of the dice. I'd be interested if anyone has found an answer. JC Singer Doug Moller wrote: - quote - > I have been using Money 2006 since mid 2005 with no problems.
