| Thanks, that enabled this to be a valid transaction. But when it was imported, it didn't match up with the hidden one (I had hoped it would and then could be deleted). Now I still have the one hidden one and the new imported one. I decided to change this new one into a negative amount so it counterbalanced the hidden one, and I could balance the account. Hopefully, I won't have future problems in the account. Yes, this is Money 2004 and it is an investment account. I'm doing it in the cash transactions. I'd rather not upgrade just for this problem! Thanks for your help. Let me know if you have any other suggestions, otherwise I'll see if this added negative transaction keeps me balanced. One more thing: I still don't think you have said you are runningMoney 2004. But if you upgrade from Money 2004 to Money 2006, I expect the problem to go away. |

You also need the single line at the top that starts with '!'. You could also consider changing that date line from "D12/6'2005" to "D12/6'05". Are you doing the export and import from/to the investment transactions? If so, would be thinking of doing in the cash transactions. |

| Well, close but no cigar. The transaction in the QIF file looked like this: D12/6'2005 C* T5,000.00 PTransfer to Fidelity L[Checking] ^ When I tried to import the file with just this transaction, Money gave me a error saying it's a corrupt file/invalid file. But it seems like all the values of this QIF are valid. Should I experiment with removing some of these fields? I'm afriad that it wont match the bogus/hidden one if I do. Thanks for the quick response. Then during step 11, manually delete all of the transactions in the QIF file, except for the one transaction that you already know to be hidden. |

Assuming you are talking about Money 2004, move on to step 3. Or you> Register) that I cannot remove. It's preventing me from balancing an account. > I've followed steps 1 and 2 in > http://support.microsoft.com/default...13&Product=mny, > to no avail. Thanks, Larry Engel can modify that process by editing the QIF file to only include the one transaction that is hidden, since you apparently know the problem transaction. In the process, the hidden transaction should be come not hidden, so you will be able to deal with it. |

| I have a hidden transaction (i.e., shows up in Reports but not in the Account Register) that I cannot remove. It's preventing me from balancing an account. I've followed steps 1 and 2 in http://support.microsoft.com/default...13&Product=mny, to no avail. When I see the transaction in Reports, the amount cannot be changed and it cannot be voided. Any tips on how to delete or void this transaction? Thanks, Larry Engel |
