MoneyLink can get information into an Excel spreadsheet, but it
does not put data in.

You could change these manually to dividends. Void/delete the
Deposit in the cash account, and add the Dividend transactions into
the investment transactions.

It would be possible to parse an exported QIF from the cash account,
and to produce a QIF for download into the investment account. This
would be complex, and you would want to keep extra backups until you
are sure of the process. You would still have to get rid of the
deposits. It something few people would want to try.

There is no technical reference because there are no exposed, documented, or
supported interfaces for things like the VBA add-in you propose. Money is
intended to be a pretty tightly closed box as far as this kind of thing is
concerned.

As to dividends included in ROI, I believe that if the dividend is entered
in the Investment Account as a Dividend activity for the Investment
transferring to the Investment Cash Account--rather than just some spurious
income just showing up in the cash account--that ROI will calculate
correctly.

Default Detailed Money Reference Guide

Does anyone know of a good detailed technical reference for Money 2006?
Searching the bookstores I only found "Money for Dummies", it is too basic.
I am looking for something more advanced.

For example, Money does not calculate the current value of EE bonds. Is
there a was to write a VBA addin to manage this.

For example, I have some 529 accounts for my kids education. The current
fund price is not a listed stock symbol. In the past I created an Excel
macro that downloaded a web page and extracted the information.

Lastly, there is alot about the investment accounts I'd like to understand
better. For example, in accounts with dividend reinvestment, Money
calculates the overall ROI, including the dividends, quite nicely. I have
some stocks where the dividends are deposited in the cash account. How do I
get these factored in the overall ROI?

Thanks in advance for your help.
