I think our friends in France and Quebec would disagree. <grin

Default Re: Error while importing OFC statements

Hello, Cal Learner MVP (is this your name or a code ...) ?

Many thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, my bank (Banco do Brasil), the
biggest Brazilian bank, only offers OFC file downloads ... :-( It still
doesn't even provide online banking ...

But after some research I could succeed in converting OFC to OFX and
importing it into MS Money 2006.

Here is what I did :
1) First of all, read the great articles at MS Money MVPs Help and
Information pages at http://money.mvps.org/. Speccially the article regarding
OFC statements at http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/31.aspx

2) After, download and install MT2OFX file converter. Attention : the link
listed in the MVP site (http://www.mt2ofx.tk/) is OUTDATED. The correct and
updated link is http://www.xs4all.nl/~csmale/mt2ofx/en/.

PS.: I did try MnyBank file converter, but it did not work for me (Money
2006 did not import the OFX resulting file successfully ....). Despite,
MnyBank is in French, and MT2OFX in English, which is more universal and
easier to understand for those not so much good at French.

3) Finally, remember to set the currency that the OFC script should
interpret at your OFC file. Click Options -> Script -> select Generic-OFC.vbs
(second in list) -> click Parameters, then input the value for your currency
code. For Brazilian folks, the ISO code is BRL. An updated list of all
currency ISO codes can be found at http://www.xe.com/iso4217.htm.

Best regards !

Money 2006 does not handle OFC files. Does your bank offer OFX or
QIF? If not, you can get a program that will convert the OFC file
for you.

Default Error while importing OFC statements

Hi, all. A message appears when I try to import a OFC file with statements
from my bank :"C:\<money_dir> \20896.ofc cannot be imported. Please confirm
you have the correct file, or select another file to import", while using MS
Money 2006.

The same process DID work for MS Money 2004, but do not seem to work with
MSMNY 2006 anymore. I have already checked file extensions and .ofc files are
already matched to MS Money Import Handler, just as OFX files are.

Any help on this !? Manually importing and reconcilin would be just to
manual work for me ...

Thanks in advance. Best regards,

Fábio
