If you actually enter transactions after the split has already been recorded
in Money, Money will assume that you entered the "pre-split" dated
transactions with "post-split" info.

No.

What you describe is not what happens to the rest of us. When you
enter a split for stock that you had an earlier Buy for, the Price
should go down, and the Quantity should adjust up. The Total should
stay unchanged.

I am still not seeing any automatic updating of stock quantity when a stock
split occurs. I see the s appended to the share prices and they change to
reflect a split. Do I have to manually change an old buy record to add the
new shares? Please advise.

I believe the function works, and not just for me. So if things are
not working for you, I suspect there are two securities defined
somehow. And that the transactions are listed as one security, and
the splits are entered for the other security.

When you get to the details area for the stock, where you can click
UpdatePrices on the left, click Investment Activities. Do you see
your Buys and other transactions for that stock shown there? You
should. Numbers in the Price column should have an 's' suffix if
they are adjusted for the split.

I was able to see the evidence that stock split occurred in the timeline
displayed as you suggested. However, no attempt is made to change the number
of shares owned. I could use the add shares function but it expects a price
per share which throws off the value of the stock. I am concluding that the
stock split function does not update the quantity of shares. I have checked
that there are shares that were bought before the split occurred. Please
confirm that I am correct that this function does not work and please suggest
a work around.

For the stock split to have an effect, you would need to have a Buy
that pre-dated the split date.

To look for stock splits, go to the investment details.
UpdatePrices-> UpdatePricesManually Look through the
table and find the entries in the Source column that say "Stock
Split"

Default Premier Money 2006 stock split feature problem

I was unable to find evidence that the stock split feature added a new
quantity of stock to what I had originally. When I entered the stock split
info the message came back that it had worked appropriately yet the stock
amount was not updated. Nor could I find anyplace where the info was stored.
Is this a bug in the product or could I be missing something? Where can I
check on this data about splits?
