| I tried entering new Payee names to the list in advance now and then tested new check register records that did display those new payees this time. So it works now for those new payee names. I guess it must have been a fluke when initially entering register records that payees set up in advance were not included. | I located the Transaction Entry Options and found both "Use AutoComplete" and "Automatically drop down category and payee lists wheen a transaction is selected" are checked. So it apparently only took effect after check register transactions were entered (but excluded the advance Payee names that I had originally entered). I might try entering a couple of new Payee names to the list in advance again and then see if they appear on the check register drop down list now. | I don't, either. Did you set the AutoComplete setting? Did you set the auto pulldown setting? I think there's one there somewhere. | My only concern is that the Payee names I entered initially (before entering check register records) did not later appear on the check register Payee field drop down list when starting to key the first character. I did not understand why this happened. | Was there a question here? Perhaps you are looking for the setting at Tools|Settings|Account settings (global)|Transaction entry options|Use AutoComplete? I can't say for sure because it works here on my M06 Trial machine. | After initially installing Money 2006 Deluxe (retail CD), I first started entering a number of Payee names to use when later entering expense records. I then entered recurring "Bills" category records that were anticipated. Then when manually entering check register records, the only Payee names on the Payee field drop down list were those previously entered in the recurring "Bills" category group records. I had expected all of my originally entered Payee names to be included in the drop down list for use when manually entering check register records. However, I had to key each Payee name over while entering check register records. So the time originally spent on keying Payee names was really wasted. |
