Otherwise, create a fake Dividend transaction. Use the drop-down list, and hope that you can recognize the old AT&T. If so, select it and, undelete it, blank the symbol, and change the name to zzz0 or some such. Then delete the fake dividend for zzz0. Your name and symbol should now be free. |

| One method: Enter a dividend transaction using the original security -- once it's in the register, right-click and go to the security, then its details, and delete the symbol. -- Michael Gordon MVP "cam" <camazREMOVE29[at]DhotDROPmail.com> wrote in message news:%231UXBc9FGHA.2084[at]TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... - quote - > Like a lot of other people, I've run into a problem getting Money to > recognize "T" as the symbol for the new AT&T (formerly SBC). | Like a lot of other people, I've run into a problem getting Money to recognize "T" as the symbol for the new AT&T (formerly SBC). The program properly recorded the AT&T/SBC merger, and allowed me to change the name of the account to AT&T, but stubbornly refuses to allow the stock symbol, declaring that that symbol is already in use by AT&T (the old). But, due to the merger, noplace can I dredge up the original account in order to delete the symbol, freeing it up for the "new " AT&T. HELP?? |
