Couple of small peeves, though. 1. Clutter on the left hand bar is kind of annoying. There should be a way to switch the left bar off completely. I can block it out mentally since there is nothing of use there 99% of the time, but it would better not to be able to see it. 2. Advertisements should be turned off when the setting is checked. I know that Money is turning into an adware of sorts but it still bothers me enough to mention it here. Again, I can block them out mentally but...

How so? What are you finding you can do in M06 you couldn't do in M04? "nfe6848m" <nfe6848m[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E382DF0B-7023-49E5-8AA3-6F45FE4BC8CA[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Money 2006 is a lot better.. especially when it comes to IRAs and > investments...

....and I say this with a certain degree of trepidation after my experience with '05. I just installed Money '06 since I got it for free (mail in rebate yet to be sent, but Microsoft has been good about their rebates) with Tax software. I chose my desktop to try it out first. I use Money '04 on my laptop but didn't want to upgrade that just yet. So I just spent about 15-20 minutes with the new version and decided to share my thoughts. Couple of things that put me off of using 05 have been taken care of in 06. So, it seems someone is listening. Clutter is reduced and online updates are controllable. Those two were my biggest complaints with 05. Otherwise, the UI looks usable. I felt comfortable navigating all the sections and I could do what I used to do in 04 without much problems. I have to admit that I do not use portfolio or investment analysis sections a great deal so YMMV. I use Money 04 for basic account keeping and tracking mortagage etc and looks like I will upgrade to 06. I feel a little sad for my trusty old Money 04 but I guess it is time to say goodbye. :-)
