| My ofx downloads come from NatWest - but what has this got to do with the problem? Surely I should be able to target the account to which the downloaded ofx applies without this hassle? I have set up other accounts in the same file and downloaded OK in the past. The difference now is that the 'new' account I'm trying to download the ofx to is the same as the old one. I'm just closing the old one after 3 years, so that I can start afresh and leave some old, minor errors behind. This is why the 'old' account has been re-named and closed. (Hope that makes sense). Don't quite understand your 'decline' in opening a new file. I don't really want to create a new file anyway, as there are other accounts in the existing file I need to keep. Creating a new file will surely mean I have to keep opening and closing files needlessly? On a side note, the F1 help file refuses to open within my installation of MS Money - just says 'page not found'. I also found it a terrible struggle finding this bulletin board! There's not a lot of intuitiveness (if that's a real word) to MS any more! | I've followed ALL the advice from Cal - with no joy. I'm not surprised satxfili gave up! I'm running Money 2005 and have the same problem. OK. Open the OFX file with a text editor such as Notepad.> institution from the account settings and indicated that they were not held > by any financial institution on the "specify where your accounts are held > page". I don't know what else to do. Find the numbers and/or letters following <TRNUID> and change the first character to something else. That may be enough. Save the file, and File-> Import that file as a statement. The theory is that Money remembers having already seen that statement. So let Money think it is a different statement. If still no joy, do that again and also the same for the first character following each <FITID> . |

| I had already deleted all pending statements and deleted the financial institution from the account settings for the accounts and had moved the accounts to the "unassigned accounts area". I then tried downloading the information again and it shows it imported but never gave me the opportunity to pick the account to use and never shows against any account in the account list. | Does anyone know where the "data" is stored that indicates which account a statement is to be matched with on import? I keep getting the wrong account updated when a statement is imported and even when I delete the account number and the bank name from the account information it still tries to match it. |
