| Update: 1. Upgraded my RAM from 256MB to 768MB. 2. Purchased MS Money 2006 and installed it (uninstalled 2005). Absolutley no noticeable change or improvement. This is crazy. I am FAR above the minimum hardware requirements - and my computer is pegging out at 100% and Money is still taking 20 seconds to "Accept" a matched transaction!?!?!? All other programs run fine on this computer (and did so before I invested in more RAM and MS Money 2006. Are there any other solutions? What about trying to export my data and importing it into a new datafile? What is that process? Thanks! | Sorry, Dick. I kinda hoped it would be across the board faster, but it looks to be hit/miss. Maybe Money 2007 will be a revamp? | Jason, I quit using Money 2005 for that very reason--lack of speed. 2006 seems to have corrected that quite nicely. Glenn B. | Hi Kyle: Thanks for helping me out. 1) I think I did uninstall/reinstall when the problem first started if I remember correctly. I may try it again just to be safe. 2) My Money file is 18,244 KB. That doesn't seem to be too crazy to me? 3) I run Microsoft AntiSpyware and am clean of spyware (and viruses). | 1) Have you tried completely uninstalling / reinstalling Money? (ie, not just upgrading) I wouldn't make the assumption that installing a new version would magically fix your problems. 2) Is your Money file huge? 3) Have you checked for spyware lately? | I have been having problems for over a year with processes being extremely slow in MS Money. It started when using Money 2004 and I upgraded to Money 2005, hoping it would solve my issues. For example: * Deleting a downloaded transaction from checking takes over 20 seconds * Accepting 1 "match" transaction takes over 20 seconds for each one This seems to be excessive. If you have a list of 10 matches, you have to click the first one, wait 20 seconds, and then click the second one, wait 20 seconds, etc. When looking in Windows Task Manager in my CPU usage and performance, I am pegging out at 100%. I am running a 2.2 GHz processor with 256 MB RAM and over 100 GB of free disk space. I also have a 3mb/s cable modem, so that shouldn't be limiting me either. Is this in line with what one should expect, or do I have an issue? Would upgrading to 2006 potentially help? I can't take the waiting any longer. |
