I wouldn't be surprised if some interface standard established a length that
became the Money design-to length.

It's been the same for 14 versions. I wouldn't hold my breath now, were I
you. If it doesn't deliver ads, it pretty much doesn't get in the product.

This has to be customizable in a future release. 30 characters, based on
what my credit union sends me, is useless and is causing me headaches
matching up transactions to their proper categories.

How do we go about making a request that this be an enhancement?

Money permits 32 it would seem, tho perhaps two fewer characters are
being used in some cases.

No. However there is nothing to prohibit the data providers from
making better use of the available characters. I have one download
source that puts so much stuff, including a bunch of contiguous
spaces, that I only get the first two letters of the payee.

Default Payee Name Length Max?

The Credit Union for which I get online transactions thru Yodlee has
extremely long descriptions which exceed the maximum length set in Money (30
chars?).

Many of the descriptions are hard to determine where they really came from,
and the matching feature in Money 2006 of Payee/Payee Names gets many of them
wrong.

Example (ATM card used for gasoline): ATM / POS PURCHASE-TERM# 0930033
is all that is seen in Money 2006. The actual description at the Credit
Union is much longer than that:
ATM / POS PURCHASE-TERM# 09300337 COSTCO GAS #00 1300 EDWARDS FERRY LEE

Even then, the city name is truncated off (LEESBURG, VA)! "ACH"
transactions are similarly truncated as well and equally useless.

Is there anything to allow M06 to expand the max length of the Payee field
to something longer?
