Dick,
Thanks for your reassurances and the link to the paycheck morphing
information. (I should have checked the FAQs first!) I couldn't undo the
morph so I just recreated the payment. I'll chalk up the disappearing
paycheck to yet another M04 glitch.

Money is full of little gems like these. I wouldn't further worry it in
terms of periodic voodoo or it being a sign of further corruption.

Under some circumstances--I can't say which ones, just I've had it work
sometimes and not others--you can undo the Paycheck morph by deleting
Paycheck in the category box and then clicking on Split to confirm the
splits are still there. I you see it morph and haven't saved the bill, a
Cancel and then going back into it will sometimes undo the Paycheck
morphing. See also http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=106.

I've not seen the bill disappears when date of series changed behavior, but
I've seen enough of wierdness like this to believe it.

Default M04 Bill Becomes Paycheck and Paycheck Disappears when Date is Cha

I have been using MS Money since M99 and upgraded to M04 in 2004. A few
quirks, but no big problems. Recently two very strange things happened:
1. When I changed the due date on a yearly recurring paycheck (bonus) the
transaction disappeared entirely. I loaded a backup file and repeated the
action twice with the same result. I finally was able to enter the bonus
with the new date by using "Enter in register" and then changing the date.
2. A recurring bill has suddenly changed to a paycheck. I remember some
posts about this a few years ago, but I couldn't find them.
Are these odd behaviors related? Is my file somehow becoming corrupt? Any
recommendations for fixing the file? Should I be doing some kind of periodic
maintenance?

Thanks!
