In the almost highest level of the many pull down menus try Tools|Find &
Replace. There is a radio button(?) for Advanced. From the Advanced choice,
you can select what you want to look for with multiple criteria on several
tabs. Once found, you can select a subset of those to apply various replace
options to. It should be described somewhere in Help. It's been there
virtually for **many** versions now. And it still does not support
Classification.

Make an extra copy or backup of your file in case you don't like the
results. In fact, you may want to make a copy of your file and open
that for experimentation.

Then Tools-> Find&Replace. Choose advanced, Next.

Choose your search criteria. You get a list of transactions that
meet your criteria. Then you can choose which you want to change
category or whatever on. Play around to see what you can do.

You could use advanced find & replace to change the category of the
existing transactions.

Default How to automate payee to a certain category

Just downloaded 6 months of credit card charges. None of them imported
a category. How can I automate say the 13 Shell Oil purchases in the
register to have the same category like "gasoline" or at least have
gasoline in the category when it is edited in the register?
