| Thanks Chris for your reply. I tried what you said with no luck. I have wasted several nights trying to get this to work (including missing some meals). I am back to Quicken and will probably upgrade to Quicken 2006. My Money 2006 is up for grabs. | I did not include any loan categories in my budget , and you correctly mentioned, it does appear automaticaly under the debt section. That is fine. My problem is when I run the report, I expect under the budget column it show this amount and likewise in the "Actual" column it show the payment I have made from my checking account. Such that the difference shows "0". But this is not the case. The "Actual" column does show that I paid a mortgage payment, but adjacent to that in the "Budget" column a "zero" is listed. Why ? Thanks "Chris Cowles" wrote: - quote - > "navin" <navin[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:1BE7B64A-A58E-411B-A1A1-7CAE710CE101[at]microsoft.com... > > My Mortgage payment does show up under the Debt section in my budget. Scheduling a loan payment, and including loan categories will double-count them in the budget, as you have discovered. Be careful also not to include categories associated with the loan payment, such as homeowner's insurance or property taxes, paid through escrow. The debt category includes the total amount paid in a loan payment, not just principal/interest. |

| My Mortgage payment does show up under the Debt section in my budget. My Mortgage payment category is Loan Payment: House Loan in my checking account from which I pay my mortgage. So far so good. However when I run the budget - spending report. The Budget column does not show the budget amount for the Mortgage. The Actual column does under the Debt Category does. It thus looks like I spent more, when this item is actually budgeted. This does not make sense. MSMONEY documentation is POOR. Why cant we have a complete comprehensive ..pdf style documentation as is expected with any commercial software. |
