| Yep. I was just trying to reduce the file size. I've got a second backup. |

| I hope you have a backup copy of your file previous to the archiving. If so I would strongly recommend that you revert to it. Archiving is a disaster as you will lose your historic information. There is no reasonable way to integrate all of your archived data back into your file. -- Peace, BobJ "Heather" <heather.barker[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1135905204.877420.164430[at]g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > I'm working with Microsoft Money 2004 Standard. | I've tried letting it load for upwards of around 30 minutes, but I'll let it go for longer and see what happens. |

| How long have you waited there? On my laptop this can take ten minutes or so. I wouldn't declare a problem besides usability until I'd waited several hours or even overnight. I'm not saying that's acceptable or desirable. BTW, there are two kinds of file corruption. Data level corruption: A 1 that becomes a 0 after the copy because of a media or computer problem problem. Logical level corruption: A 0 that stays a 0 that the application made a 0 but desperately wishes it hadn't because the application did something stupid and defective once upon a time. | I'm working with Microsoft Money 2004 Standard. I'm transferring my money file to a new computer. It works just fine on the old one, but when I try loading the file on my new laptop the program always stalls. Balances and investment information will load up, but the budget section remains at "Loading...". I've tried transferring the files two different ways (on a memory key and via email) but the result is the same, so file corruption is not an issue. I've also tried archiving off several years' worth of data to adjust the file size, but with no success. Do you have any ideas about why the file is stalling? |
