| Glad it worked!! I don't take the credit for this solution, however. The idea was given to me by MSFT tech support many years ago. I still can't believe they have not fixed this problem. I would be nice to be able to delete scheduled bills/deposits and really be rid of them ![]() Regards Bill Wood <fatcat1111[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1136324110.026809.14590[at]g43g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Thanks for your great suggestion! | Thanks for your great suggestion! Unfortunately, this workaround has been blocked in 2006: you can't set a bill to have 0 transactions remaining. So, the slightly longer version is to set it to have 1 transaction remaining, enter it into the register with an amount of $0.00, then delete the just-recorded transaction from the register. Lather, rinse, repeat. I really appreciate your brilliant solution. Thanks again. |

| Generally speaking it is dangerous to delete scheduled bills or deposits because they keep coming back to haunt you. This is a bug in Money 2002, which I use, and apparently it still exists in newer versions even though I reported the bug in 2002 and complained every year thereafter to MSFT. (I have never had a problem skipping a bill however.) The better method of getting rid of a scheduled bill/deposit is to use the "this series will end at some point in time" check box in the Edit dialog. Pick a date in the prior year to end the series if the bill goes back that far. I like to use 12/31/ of the prior year. Type 0 for Number of transactions remaining and conform the Next due date with the Date of final transaction. This method will get rid of old scheduled bills and you do not need file repair or export/import unless you have a very old file and lots of other problems. | I'm experiencing a bug and wondering if anybody else has seen this, and if so, what their solution was. This is with Money 2006 Deluxe. If I skip or delete a regularly scheduled bill, it will reappear the next time Money is opened. This is happening with a half dozen of my bills. I've tried both of the repair options to no avail. And because I have about 34 accounts going back many years, I really don't want to go through Export/New/Import. |
