| Thanks, the information I had seen previously about that macro had only described funtionality to go from Excel --> QIF, and as the name of the macro suggests, that is what it does. ![]() However, I now can see some small mention in the latest verion: "When you install this macro, there is a new XL2QIF menu added to Excel with an item to create a QIF file (Save to QIF) and an item to import a QIF file (Load from QIF)." so I will take a look at it. | The XL2QIF macro includes a QIF import function, so you can import any QIF file into Excel: http://xl2qif.chez-alice.fr/ - quote - > There is nothing on the Ultrasoft site, to convert Money 95 version > QIF files. | Let me try to be clear, again. Yes, there is no MoneyLink for M95. Sorry I even brought it up. What I was suggesting was intermediate Money upgrade to a version that DOES have a MoneyLink available. If you *really* mean QIF, there was nothing significantly different> QIF files. If you want to convert a QIF file to a 'flat' file -- whatever you mean by that-- why not just use a text editor with macro abilities? - quote - > and one link for a .BAS file, that I could have used, no longer > exists. > Thanks, > Peter > On Thu, 29 Dec 2005 16:30:07 -0700, "Dick Watson" > <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote: > > Ahh. | There is nothing on the Ultrasoft site, to convert Money 95 version QIF files. I wouldn't want to use a trial version, as I don't want to use Money any more, the file format is propietary, and that is the exact reason why there do not seem to be any tools/utilities to convert from QIF ---> other formats. There are some exce macros, but they go the other way other formats --> QIF and one link for a .BAS file, that I could have used, no longer exists. | Ahh. I missed the M95 part. But at the Ultrasoft site, there are versions for M through M06. (The FAQ answer posted to the web is out of date. I've fixed it in the database but haven't pushed lately.) This suggests one possible path is an intermediate upgrade for your data file, perhaps through a Money trial version--M04 would be the best bet as M06 might need an intermediate upgrade through M04 anyway. | Hi, Thanks for the information on Moneylink. I read up on it, and it is for "Money 98 through Money 2003", so with Money 95, it wouldn't work no doubt. I have found that with exporting in general, when I run a transaction report, and include all items, it doesn't include all the data, some of the memo data is truncated, and other parts missing, so it would seem that the export to QIF, will at least give a 'full' and exact copy of each acount. As was suggested on the link you supplied, the macro that creates QIF formatted data could be used in this manner, .. "extrapolate from this macro how to go the other way." | There's MoneyLink that will read all transactions for a specific account or all accounts directly into Excel. There are a hoard of Excel and QIF tools. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=9 for links to some of them. | I notice there is an Excel macro that converts flat data into the QIF format, suitable for importing into Money. The macro is at http://www.respmech.com/mym2qifw/UtilityIndex.htm , and is called wm1248.exe Is there any tool/utility that will read a Money QIF file (money 95 version), and convert the QIF data to a 'flat' file. |
