OK. Your next step is to either open the Sample.mny file, or to> the software and now I have version 14.0.0.728. Then you should be able to open your earlier *.mny file, or restore a backup. |

| Thank you for the advice, unfortunately, it is not working. I reinstalled the software and now I have version 14.0.0.728. I can tell this my the information on the internal error when it says "tell me more info". Anyways, this did not work and is again telling me the same error "internal error". The program was working fine the last time I opened it about 2 weeks ago, so I am not sure what is happening. - Valerie "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Valerie wrote: > > Click on MS Money 2005 and open Sample.mny, it immediately puts up a error > > reporting, “We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal > > error and will have to restart.”, then I get a 2nd error reporting the exact > > same thing. That one will not be zero.> reporting, “We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal > error and will have to restart.”, then I get a 2nd error reporting the exact > same thing. After that, MS Money closes. When I try to open my normal file, > it does not recognize my id, then gives me the above error messages and shuts > the software down. Any advice? I have done the latest updates to > 14.0.0.1105 and that didn’t help. ^ Try creating a new Money file. If you don't have another way, you could take any old non-Money file and rename it to *.mny. Then open that file. Money will say the file is corrupt, but you would be able to create a new file, and see if that works. Make extra copies of your backups on different media while you are thinking of it. If Money always closes immediately, how did you get the version number? From memory? If you have the CD, I would probably reinstall, and then take steps to get the updates before continuing with your real file. |

| Click on MS Money 2005 and open Sample.mny, it immediately puts up a error reporting, “We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal error and will have to restart.”, then I get a 2nd error reporting the exact same thing. After that, MS Money closes. When I try to open my normal file, it does not recognize my id, then gives me the above error messages and shuts the software down. Any advice? I have done the latest updates to 14.0.0.1105 and that didn’t help. |
