I have been using Money 2006 on WinXP x64 for about 3 months now, with no
problems.

As I recall--and I've been running Money on NT since 3.1--they were still
using "NT is not for home and Money is" as the excuse for stuff that didn't
work right long after that. I'm fairly certain that M95 was not "supported"
on NT anything. Don't have a box to check, though. (That one was a download
freebee.) Let's also note that limitations like "run as admin only" aren't
exactly enthusiastic "support"--granted lots of other products have the same
inexcusably lame limitation.

Let's also note that NT prior to NT4 was no more widespread a platform then
than XP64 is now and for lots of the same reasons.

Money 97 was officially supported on NT4, as long as you
installed and ran as an admin. Online features were unsupported
for NT 3.51.

http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/201.aspx

I don't know what Money 95 requirements were, but by then, NT had
only been out 4 years and it was really NT 4 that made it a
widespread platform.

http://www.3dvelocity.com/articles/w...64softlist.htm
shows Money 2004 and 2005 work on Win64. I suspect 2006 will do,
and I also suspect you have to be a full admin. :-\

What do you mean by "drop to desktop" and "exit to desktop"? Are you saying
it exits, crashes, or minimizes?

I don't recall any prior reports of people attempting to make Money work on
x64. WinNT had been out for almost a decade before the Money team
"supported" it. I'd be shocked if Microsoft has even tried to run Money on
an x64 platform much lest seriously tested it. Historically the Money team
thinks the union of Money users and Computer Geeks is too small to consider
in determining supported platforms.

Default Money 2005 on XP 64

I'm having an issue with Money 2005 exiting to the desktop when I attempt to
do an "update now" for online services. I never had this issue when running
Windows 2000. The program seems fairly stable otherwise, but continues to
drop to the desktop every time I go to that menu. This is mainly an issue
because two of my accounts fail to update automatically (which, again, was
never a problem in the past). The rest of my accounts update correctly. I've
re-established the login information for both accounts just to make sure it
wasn't password related and that didn't work. At any rate, I am more curious
about why the program exits to the desktop than about why my accounts aren't
updating.

I have an AMD 64 x2 running Windows XP 64 and after troubleshooting a
variety of compatibility issues since I built this machine, I am tempted to
believe it is a compatibility issue here as well, though I've found no
mention of similar issues on this site or elsewhere. I've already tried
re-installing Money as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Greg
