I will. Whew. This took a little while but it was sure better than
reinstalling/restoring. Thanks again.

Good to hear. Don't forget to change the account name and numbers:
right-click the account name and choose settings/details.

Right. I deleted transfer to the new acct. There are no transactions left
in the new acct...its zero$. I deleted that new acct.
Everything is back in the old acct. I did an update and it did not put the
value back in the register (it was in Portfolio view though). However, I made
an edit to the last transaction in the "memo", and when I clicked done, the
value appeared. So it appears to be all fixed. If it don't update next
week for some reason, I'll be back. But right now it appears to all be
working fine. Thank you so much for checking back with me. I really
appreciate it. You're most kind.
Have a great holiday.

OK. You created a new investment account. You have deleted the
transfer of one or more securities to that new account, and at this
point there are no transactions in that account. Right? If there are
transactions in either the investment transactions or cash
transactions of that new account, I would delete them.

The old account contains the securities now. Update prices. Does the
account value reflect the value?

Hi again,
OK, I transferred it back from the new acct to the original acct. I haven't
deleted the new acct. yet. But. It does not update the price. It lost the
acct value when I very first transferred it to the new acct. Neither one had
a value in the register or the acct list. It just had .09 in the old acct.
No shares were left there.
This doesn't look good does it.
Thanks,
Judy

Rather than transferring back, I think he was suggesting deleting
the transfers that you already made.

Thanks JB,
No problems before newly created acct, it was working fine just before that,
I was using it. I created it without adding transaction, then went to other
acct and tranferred out to the new acct. I will try your suggestion. Thanks
for the good luck. Cross your fingers.

First, don't overwrite your recent backup. Yes. A restore of a
backup would make sense.

If you were moving all of the holdings from one account to another,
I would prefer to just rename the old account and change its
details.

Hi Dick,
Thank you. Oh dear....the portfolio button worked in the sample file. Went
back and opened the last repaired file and it still gives me the report an
error window. Does this mean reinstall? How bout a using the backup? I know
it just happened cause it worked before I did that transfer out to a newly
created account. Which would be best.
Thanks so much for your help.

Were you having any problems before the "newly created account"?

Assuming you haven't gotten too far along with the new account try
undoing the transfer. Then confirm the problem goes away. If so,
create the new account followed by a sell/cash transfer/buy set of
transactions in place of the account transfer. Good Luck!

JB

Try testing this in the sample file.

This may be one of those cases where a reinstallation is called for.

Default M2004 Portfolio Button Broke

Hi,
When I click the Portfolio button or Portfolio from the tool bar, I get the
Window Error Report. In the "Error Signature" it shows ModName: ofdutil.dll
ver 12.0.0.613. This happened after I transferred out from one account into a
newly created account. (but it didn't transfer the $amount either, just the #
of shares.) I did a Quick Repair and the log said "No broken records in the
original file". Then I did Standard Repair Level 2 on the new file and the
log said the same. I did a Quick Repair on the new file and the log said the
same. Lastly I did the Standard Repair Level 1, and got the same in the log.
Is there some way to fix this. It will not display the Portfolio. But from
Account List its all there, I can open each investment individually.
Thanks.
Judy
