What regional settings were you using when you ran the file under your
previous install? Try changing back to those settings, then try to open the
file.

Default Cannot open Money file after Win XP re-install... HELP

hello,

I have used for years Microsoft Money 2000 Deluxe (Canadian edition)
without problems and I have kept the original CD.

In the past year I have also used it without any problems on a Win XP Pro
platform right up until last week.

For reasons unrelated to MS Money, I have re-formatted my hard drives, re-
installed Win XP Pro and all my software, everything looks fine with one
exception only (!!): when I start MS Money 2K (without any problem) and
then try to open my Money file, I get the following error message:

"You are trying to open a file that has encrypted information. This file
cannot be opened with this version of Money".

The problem is *not* the file - I have sent it by email to another MS Money
2000 Deluxe user and she was able to open just fine.

Does anyone know how to solve this?!? I have years invested in this file...

Thanks!

Pat
